Paris Orly Airport: Car rentals, Taxis, Buses, trains and shuttles

Paris has great public transportation.  We urge you to take advantage of one of the many options available, rather than renting a car for your Paris vacation.  Not only is it more environmentally sound, but it will leave you more mentally sound, we promise.

Paris Orly Taxis

Taxis are available at Paris Orly Airport.  However, please keep in mind that taxis will get very pricey, especially during rush hour.  At Paris Orly Airport taxi stands are located right outside each terminal.

Paris Orly Buses

The bus stops right at Paris Orly Airport approximately every fifteen minutes.   If you are not bringing much luggage, this is a great way to get to your hotel.  If you have packed a lot, it may not be worth the hassle to lug all of your suitcases from the Paris Orly bus to your connecting bus, since it is likely that you will have to make a transfer between the airport and the hotel.

Paris Orly Airport Shuttle

There is a Paris Orly Airport shuttle that is usually the most economical and convenient way to your hotel from Paris Orly Airport.

Paris Orly Train Service

Paris Orly is on the train line that will take you to the metro station in Paris where you can make a connection to other train lines.  The Paris Orly train service is the quickest way to central Paris available, and once you connect to the Metro, you can go anywhere in Paris that you wish!

Paris Orly Car Rental Agencies

Paris Orly Airport has seven rental car agencies.  You may think twice before reserving a car though, it is highly recommended to not try and drive in Paris unless you have before.  It is an extremely difficult city to drive in.  Drivers are very aggressive, street signs are hard to see (and are in French), and the traffic can be abominable.  The up-side?  In France you get to drive on the right side of the road.  Just be sure to bring your international driver’s license and get lots of insurance from the rental car agency.
