Charles de Gaulle Airport: Car rentals, Taxis, Buses, shuttles and trains
Paris is a wonderful city for public transportation, plenty of buses and trains that run frequently. It is not a great place to try to drive in, especially if this is your first visit.
Paris Taxis
When you leave Charles de Gaulle Airport taxis will be just outside the terminals. It will take approximately 45 minutes to reach the center of Paris from the airport, so it will be quite expensive. Be sure to exchange enough money to pay the fare before you climb in.
Paris Bus Service
If you choose to take the bus during your stay in Paris, the bus makes a stop every fifteen minutes at the Charles de Gaulle bus stop. What could be easier? No traffic, no hassle to find parking spaces, just relaxing and taking in all of the sights Paris has to offer while letting someone else do the work – that’s a real vacation!
Paris Airport Shuttle Service
There are also Charles de Gaulle shuttle companies that you can reserve seats on that will get you safely to your hotel with all of your luggage for a fraction of what the taxis will charge.
Paris Train Service
You can catch the train every fifteen minutes from the airport to central Paris, where you can switch to the metro, which will run throughout the city. From Charles de Gaulle Airport train service is the quickest way to get to Paris.
Paris Car Rentals
Charles de Gaulle has six rental car agencies in the airport. Driving in Paris can be a challenge, even terrifying, and is not recommended for visitors. You will need an international driver’s license, plenty of insurance through the rental car company, enough knowledge of French to be able to read the signs, and a good map of Paris. I really urge you to take public transportation!
